The Cottet, an Eco-concept

Camping Le Cottet,
a family-friendly, shaded campground

35 years ago, Le Cottet was born — a natural and bucolic camping area.

In 2021, Yoan & Angélique discovered this place and embarked on the adventure, wishing to turn it into a true campground while preserving its charming features (Authenticity, Friendliness, Peacefulness, Rest, Disconnection from daily life, Vegetation…). Committed to a responsible approach, the campground – known as an eco-concept – is managed and developed in a way that minimizes its environmental impact (eco-construction, optimized energy use, eco-friendly cleaning products, selective sorting…)

Since 2026, Sarah and Julien have had the pleasure of taking over the management of the campground and its guinguette. Both aligned with Yoan and Angélique’s goals and values, they strive to carry their project forward.

They now welcome you from April 4 to November 1 with simplicity, relaxation, and professionalism.
Feel free to come visit them and recharge in this soothing place offering a panoramic view of the mountains of the Pilat Massif, the Alps, and the first Ardèche hills.

Families, Hikers, Cyclists, Wine tourists or simply holidaymakers, enjoy our exceptional location in the heart of the Pilat Park.

Camping Le Cottet,
an eco-friendly campsite!

Respect for Nature…

Our campsite is designed with respect for sustainable development. This is why we do everything we can to keep our campsite full of trees.

We want to limit our impact on the environment by managing energy and water consumption responsibly.

We work as much as possible with local producers, promoting short supply chains.

During the redevelopment of the campsite, many things were done in this direction.

  • The wood for our chalets was purchased from two sawmills in the surrounding villages, and we treated it with natural products (linseed oil, turpentine).

  • The hot water in the sanitary block is produced by a solar thermal system, and most taps are of the “push-button” type.

  • All lighting is equipped with LED lamps.
At night, the campsite lighting is minimized in order to reduce light pollution and promote biodiversity.

As part of this ecological approach, we contribute—at our level—to respecting nature by promoting a zero-waste philosophy.

  • Vehicle movements inside the campsite are kept to the strict minimum.

Sustained work...

Modernisation of the campsite with the support of the European Union under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME)

In spring 2022, Le Cottet campsite, classified 3 stars after the renovation works, offers 50 pitches including 6 mobile homes, 5 residential units, 2 contemporary chalets and 2 unusual accommodations (our Cocoon Domes).

A work programme began in 2022, including:

– the construction of a building housing the reception and the kitchen of the Guinguette restaurant

– the creation of a large terrace for the Guinguette

– the renovation of the interior of the sanitary block and its solar thermal boiler room

– the acquisition of two geodesic Domes

– the creation of the swimming pool and a paddling pool for young children

– the upgrade of the electrical standards as well as the connection of the rental units to the main sewer system

– the construction of 2 chalets

– the creation of a laundry room and workshop

and in 2023, the construction of a contemporary yurt.

The modernisation and the new 3-star classification of Le Cottet campsite are co-funded by the European Union under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe invests in rural areas, through its “Creation and renovation of tourist accommodation” scheme, as well as by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and ADEME.

Objective: These investments, carried out with an eco-responsible approach, will improve the welcome and comfort of guests staying at the campsite and hikers on the GR65, connect the entire campsite to the main sewer system, and also develop a dining offer that highlights our local artisans and producers.

And to promote our beautiful Loire department and its Pilat Regional Natural Park.
